Get More Sales with Webinars
(Without Being “Salesy”)
A Copyblogger Course
with Tim Paige
You really can finally master the art of selling …
without losing your soul in the process.
You’ve got the content. You’ve got the skills. You’ve got a dynamite product or service that could be doing great things in the world.
What’s still missing?
The sales skills to find more customers or clients.
Maybe you’ve told yourself that “you’re just not a natural salesperson.”
Maybe you’ve even decided that you don’t want to be a “sleaze,” so you’ll just accept that you can’t be successful.
Our culture has sold us an idea that there are a selected few “natural salespeople,” and everyone else has to starve.
Or — and some sales trainers reinforce this stereotype — we think we have to be heavy-handed, or even kind of “sleazy” in order to sell well.
Well, we call B.S. on that.
That high-pressure, super “salesy” approach turns off more customers than it wins
Think about it — how do you feel when you feel pressured, pushed, or even bullied into buying something?
You hate it, right? That’s exactly why you don’t want to be that kind of salesperson.
Well … you don’t have to be.
Learn to be a great sales pro — the Copyblogger way
Ever tried looking for education on how to sell?
A lot of it tries to make you into one of those “used car salesman” types.
Pushy. Aggressive. Won’t take no for an answer.
Exactly the kind of sales professionals you hate dealing with when you want to make a purchase.
But here’s the funny part.
Some of the most effective salespeople you will ever meet — the folks who sell a million dollars a year or more — would never strike you as “salesy.”
That’s because the killer skills for sales professionals are listening and empathy.
You just can’t “push” potential customers on the internet. It’s too easy for them to click away.
If we want to sell in today’s environment, we have to:
- Empathize with our potential customers or clients
- Offer them real solutions that will solve their problems, and
- Help them feel safe and knowledgeable enough to make a purchase
Traditional “strong-arm” selling falls apart on that last point. It makes people feel unsafe.
And when people feel stressed out or unsafe, they keep their credit card in their wallet.
Another little secret
I’ll tell you another unpleasant little “secret” that some sales trainers may not share with you.
If you do manage to “push” someone into making a purchase? That person will be a royal pain in the neck for the rest of your relationship.
They may simply get a refund — which doesn’t do you any good. Or they’ll fight the invoice when it comes. Or just gripe and moan every step of the way in your journey together.
Smart marketing and business is about connecting with the right people. And if you have to strong arm them into buying … they aren’t your right people.
No, you can’t give up on selling
Some other “experts” will tell you to give up on selling completely. Just let your product or service sell itself on the strength of how awesome you are.
If this was working for you, you wouldn’t be reading this page.
You and I both know that “it will just sell itself” almost never works.
You might convert a few superfans. But no matter how much your audience loves you, unless you have a robust sales process and some basic skills in place, only a tiny handful will ever buy.
The rest “won’t have the money right now.” Then you’ll turn around and see that they’ve spent triple your fee on someone who just isn’t as good as you are.
When you refuse to take selling seriously, you’re handing your best customers over to someone who won’t do as good a job as you do.
Which sucks. For you and for them.
There’s a (much) better way
We’re delighted to be partnering with ethical selling expert Tim Paige on a brand new course about salesmanship “the Copyblogger way.”
- We put education and value first
- Our relationships are foremost
- We never try to push anyone to buy something they don’t want
- Respect is everything, and
- We present our offers with skill and confidence
We don’t stumble or apologize when it comes time to sell our valuable products and services. But we also have the confidence never to try to “strong arm” anyone into buying.
This course will use webinars as the sales framework, because they’re one of the most effective environments around for selling. (Freelancers — this is for you, too! Webinars are a fabulous way to discover and land great new clients.)
But you and I have both been on webinars that get downright uncomfortable while you sit there, squirming, waiting for the unpleasant “pitch.”
Tim’s approach is completely different
It’s transparent. It’s authentic. It’s relaxed. And it’s very doable for people who don’t feel like they have “natural sales ability.”
In fact, it’s probably more effective for folks who are a little uncomfortable with selling. The empathy and integrity that makes you refuse to be “one of those salespeople” is exactly what’s going to make you successful with Tim’s method.
A comprehensive course in selling
Selling isn’t something that just happens. You need to create the right environment.
When we put this course together, Tim really wanted to make sure we were giving you everything you need to finally succeed with sales.
Our course covers:
- How to design a presentation so that selling feels natural (not weird or awkward)
- How to “fill the funnel” so your message can find the precise right people
- How to present like a pro — with relaxed confidence
- How to get the deal — whether you’re selling a product or finding clients for your service
- How to manage and measure your results — so you can keep improving over the lifetime of your business
Throughout the course, you’ll be learning fundamental principles of ethical selling. You’ll come out of the course confident that you can sell what you have to offer — anywhere, any time — using webinars.
And you’ll also understand the crucial choreography that you need to get right to sell in any environment.
The course curriculum
Build your presentation with a structure for sales
It’s not enough to just deliver a lot of value with your webinar. (Although you definitely need to do that, too.) This module will teach you the specific structures to use to make your attendees comfortable and give them everything they need to move forward with their purchase.
Fill your funnel for busy, successful webinars
You could be the most brilliant salesperson on the planet — but if you don’t get attendees for your webinar, you can’t make the sale! This module will teach you how to fill your webinars so you have plenty of eager potential customers.
Present like a pro for relaxed confidence
There are a lot of little details that make the difference between a polished presentation and a clumsy one. Tim will walk you through choosing your software platform, how to bring fantastic energy to your presentation, and even how quickly you should talk. If you’re not sure about how you’ll come across in your webinar, this module will be huge for you.
Get the deal — for a healthy, happy business
This is it — the moment of truth. Here’s where you’ll actually let your audience know what you’ve got for them — and how they can make that purchase.
The earlier modules will set this up so it’s natural and easy … maybe even fun.
For service providers and freelance professionals, or anyone who doesn’t have an “add to cart” product, you also need support beyond the beginning and end times of the webinar.
This session will also teach you how to structure a one-on-one sales conversation so you can present your skills from a place of relaxed confidence — without bogus scripts and without those awkward moments.
Measure and master for lifetime success
Selling with webinars isn’t something you’ll only do once. You’ll make it part of your business — this year and for years to come.
Some sessions will be more successful than others — and the key to continuous improvement is to be able to look at your session and pinpoint exactly what worked — and what didn’t. Tim will also walk you through when (and how) to automate your webinar, so you can make great use of your time while your system does the selling for you.
Group coaching Q&A to keep you moving
We’ll be scheduling a group coaching Q&A call during the course — because there’s a lot to learn! You’ll have opportunities to ask questions and get clarification throughout, but this dedicated call is an extra opportunity to let you really drill deep into specific real-world issues.
Bonus templates! (These will save you a ton of time)
Tim has also put together three comprehensive webinar templates for us.
These are complete slide decks structured for your selling success. Just “fill in the blanks” and your presentation is ready to roll.
These will save you dozens (if not hundreds) of hours putting slide decks together — and you’ll always know you’re hitting the crucial points with every presentation.
You might have a multi-million dollar software or coaching business. Or a $7 ebook that you sell as a side hustle.
Either way, selling is critical to your success.
But you need to choose the kind of sales training that respects how you do business.
- Without pressure
- Without sleaze
- Without hype
Tim’s course will give you those skills — that can easily be the deciding factor in the future success of your business, product, or service.
Good sales training isn’t cheap — nor should it be. It’s some of the most important education you’ll ever receive in your business.
But, as you may know if you’ve been around Copyblogger for awhile, we do like to give you a nice deal when we launch something new. 🙂
We offering this course for $1,997. At that price, it’s a no-brainer. We’ve seen sales training courses for well over triple that — for information that you might need some kind of “personality transplant” to implement.
But for this initial week, you can join Tim’s course for $997. That’s a $1,000 discount.
This price is only available to our first group of students, and we’ll close the door to enrollment at 8:00 PM Eastern U.S. Time on Thursday, July 5, 2018.
If you prefer, we also have a payment plan of $197 per month for 6 months. We wanted to make this incredibly accessible, no matter where your business is right now, because the right information about selling can make all the difference in the world for you.
